It happens quite often to add to the dictionary a word incorrectly identified as misspelled. But it also happens to go to fast and add a wrong word.
To edit the personalized dictionary and remove (or edit) words you added, just edit the file:
~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/*/persdict.dat
